Tour description

From the Brand Innertal car park, just before Haus Calanda, a narrow path leads up to the right, passing the Palüdbach stream and the Glingabrunnen spring. The trail continues into the Zalimtal (valley), past the Untere Brüggele Alpe, and climbs in switchbacks to the Oberzalim Hütte (overnight possible). Continue via the Leibersteig, a well-secured mountain path, to the Mannheimer Hütte (overnight possible).
Note: Snowfields may still be present in spring!

From here, follow the marked route across the Brandner Gletscher (glacier, tracked and generally easy to walk) up to the Schesaplana summit. Descend to the Totalp Hütte on a well-trodden trail (caution in spring – snowfields!) towards the Lünersee and continue via the Böser Tritt (or take the Lünersee cable car) to the cable car valley station. From the Lünersee cable car valley station, return to Brand either on foot or by bus.

Duration: approx. 10 hrs to Lünersee and approx. 12 hrs back to Brand Innertal
Note: All times are approximate. Depending on fitness, weather, and conditions, walking times may vary.
