BERGaktiv hike to the Biberacher Hut

It is planned to stop at the Biberacher Hut. Please still bring a snack and drinks in your backpack.

Ankle-high mountain boots with a tread sole, sun protection (cream & headgear) and rain protection, snacks, filled water bottle (not too sweet!), seating pad, first-aid kit, and mobile phone. We recommend, if available: camera, hiking poles, field guide for plants/animals, as well as a flashlight or headlamp for evening/night hikes.

09:30 AM, Buchboden Church; public transport L570 to Sonntag Stein, transfer to L571 to Buchboden Church – Attention, the call bus operates by reservation only!

Elevation difference: Distance to Ischkarnei 7 km, to Buchboden 11.5 km, 250 m ascent, 450 m descent (Alternative 1000 m descent)

From Buchboden, the Alpine bus departs at 9:30 AM to the Alpe Oberüberlut. The hike leads from here over the Alpe Oberischkarnei to the Biberacher Hütte at an altitude of 1,842 meters, where the Schadonapass marks the transition to the
Bregenzerwald. The descent leads to the Alpe Ischkarnei, from where the Alpine bus returns to Buchboden. Alternative descent: via the Brentarlenweg to Buchboden in about 1.5 hours of walking time.
