In the kitchen of Hotel Kreuz in Sonntag, the chef is personally present, and he knows exactly where to get the ingredients in the region. Sustainability and regionality are not just buzzwords here in the Großes Walsertal - these topics are lived and truly implemented in our restaurant.

Local and regional products always take precedence here. To ensure freshness and minimize long distances, we buy what we can from the region, from Vorarlberg, or from producers in the Austrian culinary regions. This includes not only high-quality food but also Austrian wines, juices, mineral water, and beer.

Of course, the cheese, the Walserstolz Bergkäse, comes directly from the local cheese dairy. The mountain tea is harvested from the alpine meadows in the biosphere park, honey comes directly from the local beekeeper, game meat from local hunting, eggs from free-range chickens… You can find vegetarian dishes on the menu, and vegan dishes are available upon request.

In the summer months, we gather beautiful flowers, herbs, grasses, and branches for table decoration fresh from nature.
